I came to writing having worked in the banking industry for over thirty years, and it was seeing my niece Evie exploring my North London garden that inspired me to write this book. My own pleasure in spending time in the garden, watching every thing growing and changing with the seasons, motivated me to create my first children’s book, with Evie’s help. I hope that Evie The Small Garden will capture other children’s imaginations at an early age, and will inspire them to enjoy their own gardens and outdoor spaces.
Exploring and learning from nature outdoors is crucial for children’s physical and emotional development, and can help to promote critical thinking and problem solving skills. Additionally, exposure to nature can foster environmental awareness and deep appreciation for the
natural world.
